[Eating in SF] How's the president's choice? - Great Eastern Restaurant (迎宾阁)

HEAD LINE: President Barack Obama made a surprise lunch stop today in San Francisco’s Chinatown. (Aug 21st, 2012)

That restaurant is Great Eastern Restaurant (迎宾阁) at 649 Jackson St., San Francisco, CA

Attracted by its fame of president's choice, I've been there for two times. I tried almost all the dim sum on their menu, and two dishes as well. Part of them will be started as follow.

Shumai ❤❤❤❤   Steamed Baiye ❤❤❤ Pearl chicken (rice with chicken) ❤❤❤ Seafood Rice Porridge❤❤❤❤

Pot stewed lamb tenderloin ❤❤❤❤❤

Fried tofu with multi vegetable ❤❤❤❤

This is a popular spot for Cantonese dim sum brunch (Zao Cha) which means you will wait for a seat from 10:00~13:30. The best way to keep you from desperately waiting is visit at later daytime 17:00~19:00 or take away your favorites just as President Obama do~

The environment is typical Cantonese "Jiu Lou" style, which means you have open tables and acceptable noise.

Highly recommend dish: Dim sum
Average cost: $15/person (not starving)
Good for: lunch & group dinner
Parking: Roadside (wish you a good luck)
Noise Level: Average
